No, I do not think so. However, I think swine flu has afraid the huge awareness campaign and are now hiding in the den of swine (anybody who will pull the tail of a pig – he may get the virus).
Most of the people are now aware and the swine flu incidences are now dramatically reducing. We will not frighten or scare of swine flu or any other diseases but we should take adequate preventive measure of swine flu, like:
•Cover our nose and mouth with a tissue when we cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after we use it.
•Wash our hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
•We will avoid touching our eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
We should follow our routine health and hygiene measures, encourage our kids to wash their hands well, and encourage them when they’re sneezing or coughing to cover up and prevent others from getting contact.
Swine flu can spread from person to person, mainly by exposure to coughing or sneezing. People may become infected by touching something with flu virus on it and then touching their mouth or nose. And, someone who has the flu is contagious even before he or she starts having symptoms.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said that it was prepared with rapid containment measures including antivirals if needed to combat the swine flu outbreaks in Mexico and the United States. The Geneva-based agency has been stockpiling doses of Roche AG’s Tamiflu, known generically as oseltamivir, a pill that can both treat flu and prevent infection. The emergency committee could make recommendations including whether to change the pandemic alert level, but it would be up to Chan and the WHO.
Early detection and treatment are key to stopping any outbreak of swine flu. WHO guidance calls for isolating the sick and blanketing everyone around them with antiviral drugs and symptom relief medicines such as Tamiflu. Restrict and or cancel any unnecessary travel until further information is available. We should follow our routine health and hygiene measures, encourage our kids to wash their hands well, and encourage them when they’re sneezing or coughing to cover up and prevent others from getting contact.
