Can You Drink Alcohol While on Probation?

Question by Adam S: Can you drink alcohol while on probation?
I got a possession of marijuana ticket last week. My lawyer thinks that if I go on a 6 month probation I will be able to get it off my record and the citation dropped/reduced. However, I turn 21 in a couple of months, and, well I only turn 21 once so I would like to drink. Also, Can you choose when to go on probation. (sorry if this is a stupid question)

Drinking a little bit would not be bad, but probation or not, even a little too much is never a good thing.
